Speaking on behalf of the protestors, Advocate Jahanara said that all secular, muslim, dalit and backward class forces are against the agenda of BJP-RSS government to convert this country into an ethno-democratic Hindu Rashtra, subverting the rights of other communities. SA Munir said that the protest at Shaheen Bagh has been going on since 14 days now. He said the government asking people born in India a proof of their citizenship is egregious and unjustified.

Advocate Aradhana Bhargav said that Samajwadi Vichar Yatra is against CAA and NRC because it will disproportionately affect women adversely. She said that in Assam we saw that 70 percent of those affected by the NRC process, were women. The reason for this unfairness is that women are less likely to have formal claims on land or a formal education to provide adequate documents.
