21 Women representatives organisations demand that the Maharashtra government should pass a resolution against NPR, NRC & CAA in Vidhan Sabha.


Around 25-30 Women representatives from 21 organisations across Mumbai, Dahanu, Raigad, Pune, Sangli working for adivasis, workers, slum dwellers, rag pickers, sex workers, homeless, street children  met Mr. Sharad Pawar yesterday with a demand that the Maharashtra government should pass a resolution against NPR, NRC & CAA in Vidhan Sabha. The representatives explained how  the NPR & NRC will adversely affect different marginalized groups in  society and that it was not just a Muslim question. This meeting was held on the backdrop of the announcement of NPR getting implemented in Maharashtra from 1st May. Supriya Sule, Jitendra Avadh were present for the meeting along with Sharad Pawar.


Catholic sisters from Justice Coalition of Religious, Maharashtra were part of the delegation and submitted a memorandum to Shri Sharad Pawar. They said that the CAA was unconstitutional, discriminatory and divisive, that it privileged certain faiths over others which  was unacceptable and that it would bring untold hardship to the poorest and most marginalized irrespective of faith.
